40 Over 40 | Our First Creative Session!
Our 40 Over 40 Creative Sessions have begun, and who better to set the tone than our studio wardrobe stylist and co-creator of this campaign, Keely Lozier (40++). Here is a behind the scenes look at her 40 Over 40 photo shoot experience.
Planning
Keely’s photo shoot concept began with the idea of a beaded fringe jacket — after personal shopping for herself and chatting about the best option for photos together over coffee, she went with this hot orange number.
The Photo Shoot
Keely styled the jacket with a black cat suit (she actually wore it backwards to create negative space with the cutout), black platform heels to elongate the silhouette, & beaded earrings.
We decided to shoot this look two ways — the first being bold & bright. The punchy orange of the jacket & graphic lines of the catsuit really stand out this way, and support how confident & powerful Keely looks.
Then, I wanted to up the ante. I added in a few creative tools — gels, an optical spot, and a star filter on my lens. While I love how clean the first set up was, I wanted to push the look further and add more interest.
Keely kept moving in different ways & directions throughout the shoot to create movement with the jacket and add more feeling in the images. Incorporating movement into photographs comes down to trial and error; we kept trying combinations of movement & crop to achieve the vibe we envisioned. It’s definitely an “if it feels outrageous, it looks incredible” kind of process.
